We are looking for a Trainee Coffee Roaster / Barista to join our team!
Position: Trainee Coffee Roaster / Barista
Hours: 32-40 hours / week (Casual with consideration for full time role)
Schedule: Between 5:30am and 3pm
Rate: Above Industry Award
Location: Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLD
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completion of Cert III or IV in Food Manufacturing (if required)
- Coffee roasting to the highest quality standards.
- Maintaining coffee roastery equipment.
- Organic ingredient & product handling.
- Inventory management, and wholesale order handling.
- Barista responsibilities including preparing drinks, food, and customer service.
ABOUT YOU
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2 or more years experience as a barista
- Strong interest in coffee beans, origins, and brewing techniques
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of Food Health & Safety
NICE TO HAVE
- 1 or more years in cooking or food handling related profession
- Certificates in Hospitality or Food Handling related courses
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia
- Availability to work shifts from 5:00am to 3:00pm (if rostered) on work days
- Ability to regularly lift coffee bags weighing between 15 kg and 30 kg overhead.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Loves coffee and tea
- Ability to work independently, and delegate tasks when needed
- Self motivated
- Own car with capacity to make deliveries
