Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and espresso bar located in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Queensland. We offer sit down brunch and dinner options, both dine-in and takeaway, using organic coffee beans roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters. Dinner service currently runs on Fridays and Saturdays.
We are looking for an experienced Chef or Chef / All Rounder to join our team!
Position: Chef or Chef / All Rounder
Hours: 20-40 hours/week (Casual with consideration for full time role)
Schedule: Flexible based on experience and interest e.g. dinners, weekends, or assisting with baking and prep.
Rate: $34.00 to $37.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates
Location: Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
- Team Instructions: Provide assembly, handling, and heating instructions to the café team.
- Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage food costs to minimise waste.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality control, presentation, and consistency in all dishes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly.
- Safety & Sanitation: Enforce food safety, sanitation regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Customer Interaction: Address customer feedback and collaborate with front-of-house on food-related concerns.
- Barista and Floor: For an equally experience Barista / Front of House candidate – barista and floor responsibilities
About You
Professional Requirements
- Minimum 3 or more years of recent experience as a Cook or Chef
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of health and safety
Personal Requirements
- Australian citizen or resident with permanent working rights in Australia
- Availability to work at least 1 weekend day per week
- Loves high quality food
- Own transport to and from work
Nice to have
- Barista experience.
- Professional cookery, chef, or food science certification or degree.
- Baking experience.
